Tasting Notes

A limpid pale-straw. Clear, bright. Aromaticity leads, faintly underscored by the new and older French oak used in maturation. Green apple fruit flavours, stone fruits, lychee (fresh) and a water chestnut just caught. Chalk and dry oyster shells round out the chardonnay olfactory experience. And the bouquet of oak. It hides itself so well. Dry and yet soft, with an acidic backbone nailing it firmly to the chardonnay phylum chordata. The stone fruits return, along with a hint of exotica, such as guava. There is good grip and texture, yet also some steeliness and minerality. A rainwater quality coupled with chardonnay’s fruit intensity - these two qualities bounce off one another rather than meld. Here is white wine that beguiles.
