Tasting Notes

Bright vermillion rim edge; dark to medium purple and deep pink; inviting. Aroma and bouquet interplay happily: older French oak’s smoked and dark roasted meats, then the instant lift-off of riesling’s lemon and lime aromatics; then shiraz delivers the oomph - pressed plum and earth, squeezed mulberry and mushroom, spice and pepper. Growing tannins build as if tiny cumulonimbus clouds of texture and dryness are forming inside your mouth. Then comes plum and apricot and lavender and lemon thyme. The inky, grainy texture reasserts itself, then the rail of acidity perks-up all before fruit flavours sing in baritone tessitura: plummy peppery strawberry and balsamic. White chocolate finishes quietly, and the tannins dry and the acidity cleans and you want another glass. And another.
